Food & Beverage Director
Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Maykel has always followed his passion for hospitality; a passion built around people & of course, food! After briefly living in Mexico City, family ties led their relocation to Naples, FL where he would eventually gain his first restaurant experience at 14 while working at the Watermark Grille. In 2004, Maykel moved to Miami, FL to attend Florida International University and joined the track & field team while he continued his studies to receive a BS in Hospitality Management. Since FIU, Maykel has spent time within the world-renowned Ritz-Carlton and Fontainebleau Miami Beach overseeing multiple F&B operations and most recently as Director of Operations at the 1 Hotel South Beach. In 2018, Maykel rejoined Crafted Hospitality as Director of Food & Beverage at the Beekman Hotel, putting his passion for exciting guest experiences to work at the Beekman Hotel in Downtown NYC.
When he is not steering the ship at Temple Court, you can find Maykel outdoors, traveling, at sporting events, concerts or exploring new trends in F&B.
